Origins
The company was founded in the Buenos Aires of 1919 by Patricio B. Browne under the name COWES & BROWNE. Years later, changed its name to P.B. Browne & Cia. In the 1940s, under the direction of Mr. James P. Browne the Company turned towards offering the service of marine surveys and claims adjusting to Argentine Insurance Companies.
In 1980 THE AMERICAN INTITUTE OF MARINE UNDERWRITERS, New York, appointed this Office as their correspondent for the whole of Argentina. Since then, the company has started the path to internationalization.
At the beginning of this decade, we developed an international innovative computer system for the handling of Marine Claims.
With the incorporation of Gilberto V. Silva in the executive sector, in the 1990s the company expanded its presence in the South American region and deepened into the upgrading of our claim handling system.

In the twenty-first century, our company has broadened its services worldwide through the claim handling of different international corporations. We have currently consolidated our own network of correspondents and surveyors on all five continents. Our online system BROWNET enables us to be connected with our surveyors and correspondents, who work under unified quality standards which are regularly updated.
For the past 95 years we have offered quality services to our clients in the business of cargo insurance and transportation.
